As the world begins to heal, events are starting back up. We are so grateful that we could have the 25th Anniversary of Wine Quest in person.
This two-day event kicked off on Friday, June 4 with the Grand Tasting and Auction. WFTV’s Brian Shields made this event fun as he engaged guests and updated them on available auction items. Attendees sampled over 200 wine and craft spirits while dining on gourmet hors d’oeuvres.
On Saturday, guests enjoyed a lovely sit-down dining experience and wine pairing. The Orlando Sentinel’s Scott Maxwell entertained our guests while keeping the event running smoothly as our wonderful host. During the event, guests heard from Quest CEO, John Gill, about the importance of providing support for those with developmental disabilities. James Gallagher, Board Chair Emeritus and Sales Manager Orlando for Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, spoke about the the importance of Quest’s mission and introduced Tim Veran, who led guests through a detailed wine pairing.
Later in the night, we honored Dr. Dumas. He recently retired after more than 20 years as the Medical Director at our Laurel Hill Cluster residence. The impact he made on the residents there is immeasurable and we loved being able to recognize his many years of service.
Right before the live auction, guests listened to Rachel’s story and the difference Quest made in her life and her parents’ lives. Alan Frenkel led the live auction, supported by Angel Lopez, and together they kept the live auction exciting and spirited.
With your support, we raised over $370,000 to support individuals in the Central Florida area with developmental disabilities. The funds from both nights will support our many programs that help those with developmental disabilities achieve their goals. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making Wine Quest’s 25th Anniversary such a success!
