Kamal has had a remarkable journey at Quest’s Training Center in Tampa. Despite facing initial behavioral challenges, he has become an integral member of the Quest community, spreading joy and positivity wherever he goes.
A Jack of All Trades
Since joining Quest, Kamal has honed his passions for money management, t-shirt design, reading, writing, and word searches. He is also an avid fan of superheroes and loves discussing them in detail. Kamal loves to watch his favorite movies like “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” “Avengers Secret Wars,” and “Lisa Frankenstein” in the cinema room.
Karaoke Fridays is one of Kamal’s favorite activities at Quest. He loves to sing and showcase his love for pop and rap. His favorite artist is 50 Cent, and he knows all the lyrics to his hit songs.
Bringing Everyone Together for Community Outings
Kamal’s energy radiates inside and outside of our training center. He is always ready for a new adventure, especially community outings with his peers.
“He’s very active when we go out,” says staff instructor Terry Leon. “If we do an activity, we’ll explain it to him, and then he’ll explain what we’ll do to everybody. He encourages others to participate.”
The community outings allow Kamal and others to participate in events and activities that foster socialization and personal growth. In his most recent outing to Water Works Park, Kamal had a great time at the Splash Pad.
Changed Behavior Fostered by Positive Surroundings
When he isn’t making memories with his friends at Quest, Kamal enjoys spending time with his mom, going on shopping trips, and having meals at their favorite restaurants like BJ’s and Calzone. Over the past year and a half, Leon has loved witnessing Kamal’s incredible growth firsthand.
“He used to be angry, and now he’s happy; he sees his mom more,” says Leon. “He’s awesome around people and prefers to be around people more than alone.”
A Beloved Member of the TCT Community
Kamal’s positive attitude and infectious personality have made him a beloved member of the Quest community. He has overcome his challenges with resilience and determination, inspiring others to do the same. His journey is a testament to the power of growth and positivity in facing challenges.
We are proud of Kamal’s achievements and look forward to seeing him continue to grow and thrive in his personal and social development journey.
