The 10th Annual Golf Quest Event Was a Hole-in-One!

by | Nov 11, 2024 | Golf Quest

The 10th Annual Golf Quest was a hole-in one, raising over $53,000 to support Quest’s mission of helping individuals with developmental disabilities experience a full life.

We were thrilled to see participants, volunteers and sponsors showing their support on the green at the Omni Resort Orlando at ChampionsGate. The International Course offered 18 dramatic and challenging holes for players of all skill levels.

Serving Up Snacks and Smiles at the Snack Shack

Along the course, a group of clients from Quest’s Training Center in Apopka hosted a table at hole ten, where they handed out snacks from the Snack Shack to golfers. The Snack Shack is a program that allows individuals with developmental disabilities to learn about customer service, inventory and financial management, which helps them become more independent and confident when performing daily activities.

Not only did the clients cheer on each golfer, but they also shared their experiences working at the Snack Shack within the Training Center. “They were like fans to us,” said Rachel, a client at Quest’s Training Center in Apopka. I loved sharing about our group outings and what we enjoy about Quest.”

After 18 holes, participants enjoyed lunch and a presentation from Quest Chief Operating Officer Brooke Eakins. During lunch, the Snack Shack clients read off the winning numbers for the silent auction, where raffle winners took home some fantastic prizes.

Celebrating Our Generous Sponsors

Golf Quest wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Their support helps us continue our mission to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities so that they can experience a full life.

Golf Quest Sponsors Include:

Among our dedicated supporters, Williams Construction and Development has supported Quest for 15 years and attended Golf Quest for the past five years. “We do a lot of work in the residential facilities and get to connect with the clients,” said Donnie Williams, Vice President of Williams Construction. “This is one of the huge fundraisers for our company.”

Our Incredible Volunteers Make It Happen

From selling raffle tickets to checking-in golfers, it takes over 14 volunteers to make this event happen. For volunteer Cassie Roach, the decision to serve stems from Quest’s profound impact on her son with autism. “It’s great to see all the different aspects of Quest and what they can provide for children and then adults as they get older,” said Roach. “Because of Quest, I have hope that I will have support for my son’s whole life, not just now.”
