Today, we are saying goodbye to one of our Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDP), Ronika Cordoba. When Ronika started at Quest, Inc. it was only supposed to be temporary.
“I originally started working at Quest as a DSP (Direct Service Provider) just so I would have extra money to take a vacation to Hawaii,” she said.
She ended up loving the job and the people and stayed for seven years learning about our residents and earning steady promotions.
Ronika worked her way up to being a QIDP at our Intermediate Care Facility at Williams Road. There, she managed each resident’s case, trained staff members, worked with parents and guardians and made sure that Medicaid and insurance was up to date.
A self-proclaimed “super sports fan,” Ronika’s favorite memories at Quest include taking residents out to Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Bucs games. “Seeing the smiles on the clients’[BA1] faces and seeing them loving life out in the public was such a rewarding experience,” she said.
She is leaving Quest to pursue an opportunity to learn more and sharpen her skills, but hopes to return to Quest one day.
“Quest is like a family, especially Williams Road because I’ve been here the entire time I’ve worked at Quest.”
Ronika’s story is like so many of the Quest family who have started in a front-line position and been promoted for their hard work and dedication. We hope to welcome Ronika back one day and wish her the best of luck!
