Team Member Highlight – Eileen Neal

by | Jul 3, 2024 | Team Member Highlight

For more than two decades, Eileen Neal has positively impacted the lives of clients at Quest, Inc. In her years as a caregiver for her nephew, Eileen experienced firsthand the importance of support and empathy. This experience became her driving force and led her to join Quest 22 years ago.

Empathy in Action as a Direct Support Professional

Eileen has embraced the evolution of her role as a direct support professional (DSP) during her time at Quest. Her role entails helping clients experience a full life by nurturing their independence, encouraging their achievements and fostering an environment where they can thrive at Quest’s Group Homes.

“I’ve learned to understand my clients, recognizing their behaviors and individuality to serve them better,” Eileen says.

Nurturing Independence

This understanding empowers her to fulfill her responsibilities with joy and purpose. Reflecting on her proudest moments, she shares the heartwarming story of a client’s culinary achievement. Eileen empowered her client with patience and guidance to independently prepare a meal, for which she received an award.

Creating a Positive Environment

This belief in her clients’ abilities guides her and her team’s support strategy and decision-making.  She explains that the culture at Quest is rooted in teamwork, dedication and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. Fostering a positive and enriching environment extends to the families of the individuals she serves.

“Talking with the parents and hearing they appreciate the good work we do with their children makes us feel good because that’s our goal — to be there for the clients,” she says.

It’s all about listening to everyone’s needs, spreading love and making connections. Her most significant way to connect is by taking some clients to her church on Sundays, where they enjoy time in the community together.

Making a Difference at Quest

Eileen is grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients and their families. In honoring her 22 years of service, we salute her remarkable journey at Quest, shaped by compassion and empathy.

“Twenty-two years at Quest, and I thank God,” she says. “I’ve had good leaders and managers who have helped me stay. Plus, the clients. It makes a huge difference when you know them, and they know you.”
