Today’s DSP Highlight brings us, Cheryl Campbell. Cheryl is a Skill Instructor, Level III, and has been with Quest since 2006.
When asked what the most rewarding part of her job is, Cheryl responded, “When the clients or the people we serve learn something. If it’s only picking up a spoon or holding it, I think that’s a big achievement for them. And it makes me proud because I feel like I did something. I was able to help that person learn how to hold a spoon or help that person learn how to write the first letter of their name… it’s the little things that help.”
We love when our front line team members can see and feel our appreciation for them. “It means a lot because you know you’re appreciated for the things and hard work you do. But I don’t call it hard work. I just call it work because I like what I do; I love what I do. And I don’t think I could do another job.”
For 16 years, Cheryl has dedicated her time to living in her purpose. Cheryl enjoys seeing the changes on clients’ faces. “I’ve been working with a client for four years in behaviors. I think I’ve made a change in her life, and I know she has made a change in mine. I didn’t think that I was able to change the behaviors that she had. But by continuing to work with her, some of her behaviors have completely changed. And I feel proud of myself for helping her with that.”
Similar to Cheryl, all of our front line team members have life-changing experiences through serving our clients. And we know that our clients have life-changing transformations through the commitments of our front line team members. So if you happen to see a front line team member in passing, take a few moments to stop and thank them for all they do to make life easier for others.
