Are you looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend your Sunday in Orlando? Blossom Artisanal, Quest, Inc.’s social venture, is returning to Milk Mart on Sunday, Feb. 16, from noon to 5 p.m.! Held quarterly in the Milk District, this vibrant market features over 250 local artists, makers, small businesses, pop-ups and food trucks.

At Quest, we believe everyone deserves to earn an income. Blossom Artisanal’s mission is to provide meaningful employment for individuals with disabilities. Milk Mart offers an ideal platform for team members to showcase their work, develop valuable skills and connect with the community.

A Meaningful Experience for the Blossom Team

While the Blossom team typically works behind the scenes at their shop, events like Milk Mart allow them to engage directly with customers and develop sales and customer service skills. After participating in six previous Milk Mart events, the excitement for the upcoming market is already building.

“The Blossom staff love the one-on-one interaction with the customers,” said Scott Schrope, Blossom’s General Manager. “The customers loved meeting them and finding out who made the products.”

Working at the market provides the team with peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Darrell, a Blossom team member who has attended Milk Mart many times, helped Tammy learn the ropes of the point-of-sales system.

Tammy, a member of the Blossom team since its inception, attended her first Milk Mart last December. She brought her enthusiasm to the event while learning new skills, such as restocking products and interacting with customers.

“I enjoyed working with Darrell and learning how to process sales,” said Tammy.

Tammy and Darrel are excited to return to the Milk Mart with the remaining Blossom team to showcase their work. For some, it will be their first opportunity to work the Blossom booth.

“The Blossom team gets a real sense of accomplishment,” said Crystal Julsaint, Blossom’s Production Coordinator. “Being out in the community helps break stereotypes and shows that people with disabilities are capable of much more when given the opportunity.”
