At Quest, Inc., we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to engage with their community fully. Reliable transportation is essential for individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve this goal. Thanks to the generous support of Link Logistics through its Community Impact Grant program, we have significantly enhanced our transportation services.
The importance of reliable transportation
Transportation is not just a means of getting from point A to point B. It is a lifeline for many of our clients. They rely on our services to access employment, healthcare, education and social activities. Without dependable transportation, their ability to integrate into the community is severely limited, impacting their overall quality of life.
Recognizing this critical need, the dedicated employees at Link Logistics nominated Quest for its grants program, which aims to address hyperlocal needs within our communities.
Rodney Lee, property management administrator at Link Logistics, says, “Quest’s work with people who have developmental disabilities represents an underserved population. Through our grant funds, we are making a meaningful impact on those who might otherwise miss out on vital opportunities.”
Grant funds allow Quest to purchase new vehicles
As a 2024 grant recipient, Quest was able to acquire two small passenger vans. Before this, we relied on a single large lift vehicle that primarily served clients who use wheelchairs. This limited opportunities for ambulatory clients to participate in community outings or attend critical medical appointments. With the addition of the new passenger vans, we’ve greatly improved our ability to serve clients from our Group Home program and residents of Quest Village.
Quest’s partnership with Link Logistics did not end with the passenger vans. In 2025, the company provided a $100,000 grant that facilitated the acquisition of a wheelchair-accessible bus. This bus accommodates eight ambulatory clients and four wheelchair users, enabling us to transport individuals from Quest’s Training Center in Apopka to various community outings.
Link Logistics had the opportunity to witness the impact of its support during a recent bowling event at Aloma Bowl, where clients arrived in the new vehicle. As our clients stepped off the bus, Link Logistics volunteers greeted them, assisted with shoe rentals and cheered them on while they bowled. It was a clear reminder of how transportation facilitates inclusion and community engagement.
Celebrating community engagement and support
“Link Logistics went above and beyond. They showed up, shared smiles and made lasting memories,” says Brittany Pilcher, senior director of philanthropy at Quest. “Their generous support through the Community Impact Grant, combined with hands-on volunteer efforts, has allowed our clients to experience the joy, connection and fulfillment we strive for every day.”
We extend our thanks to Link Logistics for its invaluable partnership, which exemplifies community collaboration. Its support has empowered us to break down barriers, enabling the individuals we serve to enjoy more inclusive community participation.
