Quest, Inc.’s Chief Financial Officer Todd Thrasher will retire at the end of February after an impressive 11-year tenure. His focus on sound fiscal management has increased operating income and furthered Quest’s ability to help individuals with developmental disabilities experience a full life.

Todd’s Journey to Quest

Todd’s passion for accounting began in high school. A career education course introduced him to a local accountant who shared industry insights. Decades later, he has excelled in helping organizations achieve their financial goals.

Before joining Quest, Todd worked in the for-profit industry for several years with public accounting and consulting firms and a catalog company. After receiving an invitation from John Gill, Quest’s President and CEO, to join Quest’s leadership team, he quickly discovered a deep appreciation for non-profit work.

“Doing something that has truly impacted people is a nice way to wrap up my career,” Todd says.

The Value of Sound Fiscal Management and a Commitment-Driven Culture

Acknowledging that many advance in their careers without financial training, Todd has been instrumental in teaching effective fiscal management. Using his strength of simplifying complex information, he helped team members understand best practices while forging meaningful connections. “The Quest team’s commitment to the organizational mission inspired Todd’s ongoing work to ensure adequate resources are available to reinvest into employee growth.

“Todd demonstrates his dedication to our clients and staff through his many questions and actions that focus on elevating and enhancing the client and staff experience,” says Gill.

In turn, Todd credits John for his leadership in creating an environment where employees feel valued and happy to come to work. He believes this employee-centric culture is why nearly 18% of Quest’s workforce, like himself, have devoted a decade or more to the organization.

“Quest is an enjoyable place to work. The people respect and care about you, which goes a long way,” Todd says. “The more individuals we get to join the company and progress through their career here, the better Quest will be able to serve individuals with developmental disabilities.”

Looking Ahead to Retirement

Looking ahead to retirement, Todd is excited about the prospect of relaxing as he figures out his next steps. He hopes that during his time at Quest, he has imparted an understanding of accounting that will surpass his time served in the same way he gained invaluable insight from the staff and individuals Quest serves.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity I’ve had to work here,” Todd says. “My life has been enriched.”
