We all seek moments that give life meaning. Quest, Inc.’s 11th Annual Golf Quest successfully raised nearly $55,000 to enhance the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Raising Funds to Provide Critical Services
Held at the Omni Resort Orlando at ChampionsGate, this premier golf experience served not only as a fundraiser but also as a platform to raise awareness about the barriers individuals with developmental disabilities face in living full lives. In Florida, while 35,000 people with developmental disabilities benefit from state funding for critical services, over 21,000 remain on waiting lists that can take six to eight years to navigate. Golf Quest raises vital funds to supplement funding for operations. Quest provides services at more than 20 locations and 23 programs that support individuals and families across Central Florida and Tampa.
“Being a part of Quest’s annual Golf Quest Tournament isn’t just about the game, it’s about standing up for inclusion, dignity and opportunity. I believe in this mission because I’ve seen the difference it makes — one person, one family, one future at a time,” says Kyle Becker, Quest board chair.
Quest’s Mission in Action
Brad is one example of the impact of Quest services. He is a resident of Quest Village, an innovative community designed for adults with developmental disabilities. Brad, an avid golfer, played in the tournament and had the opportunity to share with all participants the profound impact Quest has had on his life. He had dreamed of working for Universal Orlando, but living in Massachusetts made that seem far from possible.
Motivated by the support and services offered by Quest Village, his parents helped him make the bold move to Orlando in 2018. Seven years later, Brad not only works at his dream job but has gained the confidence to achieve greater independence than he and his family could have ever imagined.
“Yes, having a disability may present challenges, but you must never give up hope. Always remember that you are not alone. Thank you to Quest Village and Universal Orlando for being part of my journey.”
Community Support Makes a Direct Impact
Golf Quest was a success due to the support and engagement of the volunteers, participants and major sponsors, which included McGriff, Treemendous Quality Growers, ODC Construction, CT Mechanical, MandaTori Solutions, Roger B. Kennedy Construction, Fortune Frenchies and MidFlorida. Their support played a crucial role in making this event possible.
