A group of Disney VoluntEARS brought a touch of magic to Quest’s Camp Thunderbird by organizing a Disney-themed scavenger hunt for camp guests and team members. This special event was part of the Disney Corporate Tax team’s effort to give back to the local community.
Embarking on a Disney-Themed Adventure
The scavenger hunt kicked off with the Disney VoluntEARS distributing lanyards adorned with vibrant numbers. Camp guests and team members eagerly formed groups before embarking on an exciting journey throughout Camp Thunderbird, aiming to collect all eight Disney-themed stickers.
From the basketball court and jump pillow to the swimming pool and lake dock, each group visited different locations to collect stickers from Disney VoluntEARS. The hunt provided a new activity for camp guests and created a sense of community through collaboration.
Volunteering at Quest Builds Teamwork
For the Disney VoluntEARS, this event was more than just a day of fun, it was a chance to strengthen their bond as a team.
“I love these kinds of opportunities where we get to volunteer together as a team,” said Disney’s Lead Tax Principal, Shanna Steed. “It’s so fulfilling to come out and serve and to see the bright smiles of the volunteers and those we serve.”
Creating Meaningful Memories at Camp Thunderbird
Not only did the Disney VoluntEARS enjoy spending precious time with our camp guests, but our team members also enjoyed the opportunity to showcase all Camp Thunderbird has to offer.
“Getting more exposure for camp is always great, whether it’s through new volunteers or rental groups,” said Camp Assistant Program Director, Meggie Hall.
The day brought joy to camp guests and elevated Camp Thunderbird’s visibility within the community. Through initiatives like these, Camp Thunderbird continues to create lasting memories and meaningful experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities.
