Archery at Camp Thunderbird
Inclusion is one of the top priorities for our guests when they participate in activities at Quest’s Camp Thunderbird. Archery is a guest favorite at Camp and surprisingly inclusionary!
For years, we have offered archery as an activity for our clients and it’s been a hit with a lot of our guests. There are also a lot of benefits to gain from Archery for our guests.
Our Camp guests often face challenges with motor control and hand-eye coordination. Archery provides a space to practice those skills while having fun!
Along with the therapeutic and recreational benefits, Archery sessions at Camp Thunderbird are lead by a certified instructor so families can rest assured that each client on the range is safe. The Easton Newberry Archery Center in Gainesville, FL., provides Camp staff training.
The Boy Scouts troops, which provide volunteer service at Camp Thunderbird, have provided tremendous support to our archery program. These dedicated young men have provided the archery range with construction and extra amenities like a roof in which protects participants when it rains.
Archery also fosters friendships! Guests provide each other with support through this shared experience and many become lasting friends because of it.
Archery provides a range of important benefits for our Camp guests and we’re thankful that we can continue to provide this amazing opportunity. Relationship building is one of our primary goals at Camp Thunderbird!
