We were thrilled to host our 2024 Join the Quest Fundraising Breakfast at the Winter Park Events Center on March 6.
Sponsored by AdventHealth, this annual affair allowed over 200 attendees to learn more about the mission of Quest, Inc. through inspirational stories.
“Our mission is to help people with developmental disabilities experience a full life by providing lifelong services,” said John Gill, President & CEO of Quest. “A full life means meeting people where they are and helping them advance because, at Quest, we believe everyone is special and can gain knowledge and skills.”
2024 Join the Quest Testimonials
The testimonies of caretakers whose loved ones have benefitted from participation in Quest’s Camp Thunderbird moved the crowd. The summer camp allows camp guests to experience nature’s therapeutic powers in an inclusive setting. Moreover, it gives parents and caretakers some much-needed respite.
“She has family outside of us now. I would recommend [Camp Thunderbird] to anybody,” shared longtime camp guest Samantha’s mom in a video presentation. “Over the years, it has helped Samantha become the person she is today and taught her that she can be on her own and be helpful to others.
Thanks to the recent grant awarded by the Universal Orlando Foundation, Quest has been fortunate to expand camp offerings to include children’s programming, hosting its first family camp last month and gearing up for its first spring break camp this month. Additionally, Gill announced that Quest would embark on a $7 million renovation of Quest’s former admin office and school at 500 East Colonial. The building will serve as a signature space for Quest Kids Academy and include a Quest Kids Therapy center. This space will significantly impact the lives of our clients and their families, and we are excited to share it with the world.

These stories and countless others from clients, frontline caregivers and organizational leaders reminded everyone of the importance of shared experiences to elevate impact.
Community members left with a better understanding of how Quest serves people with developmental disabilities and how they can make a difference through volunteering, touring one of our facilities or providing a one-day or reoccurring donation. With the generous support of our breakfast guests, over $30,000 was raised to support Quest’s mission of helping individuals with developmental disabilities experience a full life.
