Jacqueline “Jackie” Knight’s journey with Quest began right after she graduated from high school in 2001. Her passion for this work grew from her relationship with her younger brother, who had cerebral palsy and passed away.
“After he passed away, I wanted to do something to honor him,” Jackie says.
Committed to Making an Impact
She took her first job as a direct support professional at Quest’s Laurel Hill intermediate care facility. Twenty–three years later, her dedication has led her to support individuals across multiple Quest programs, gaining experience in residential services, education and therapy.
Her most recent role as a registered behavior technician strengthened her ability to build rapport, teach skills and support individuals in gaining independence. These experiences shape her work today as production manager at House 81 (formerly Blossom Artisanal). House 81 is Quest’s social venture where individuals with developmental disabilities learn vocational skills through hands–on production of candles and soaps.
Building Skills that Last a Lifetime
Jackie oversees day–to–day operations, ensures orders are fulfilled on time and teaches essential employment skills. Staying focused, communicating clearly and following directions are skills that carry employees far beyond Quest. Jackie finds joy in supporting workers as they strengthen those abilities.
“From day one, Jackie has been a great new member to the House 81 team. Her years of experience at Quest allowed her transition to be seamless with the staff, and her positive attitude and genuinely happy demeanor are a very welcome addition,” says Scott Schrope, general manager at House 81.
As Jackie settles into her new role, she looks forward to expanding opportunities for employees to participate in community events. It’s another way to reinforce that they are seen and capable, while allowing them to experience the full journey of their work.
Living Quest’s Core Values
Through her years of service, Jackie has consistently embodied Quest’s values in every role she’s held. Her journey is a testament to the impact of dedication, compassion and a relentless commitment to making a difference.
“I love what I do,” Jackie says. “It’s fulfilling, and it brings me joy to wake up and come here.”
