This week we are honoring our amazing Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for DSP Recognition Week, a nationally celebrated week to highlight the amazing frontline workers across the country who work with individuals with disabilities.
The DSPs at Quest provide much of the day-to-day support for the individuals we serve. They help with everything from feeding to personal care to administering medications. In addition to physical and daily support, they also offer mental support by being a compassionate ear when someone is having a hard day and a friend during difficult times. They are the backbone of direct care at Quest.
This past year and a half has been especially challenging for our DSPs as they’ve had to navigate COVID-19 precautions and changing guidelines. We are so honored to have their resilience, support and hard work as part of the Quest team!
Each year, the theme for DSP Recognition Week changes. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras. On Monday we had groups of team member volunteers “yard crash” each location to express gratitude for our DSPs’ hard work. Each group was provided a box of Mardi Gras-themed decorations including banners and streamers to decorate porches, doors and windows. Team members also creatively crafted their own yard signs to show their appreciation.
DSP Week is also full of fun games where everyone is a winner. Plinko is a Quest tradition and DSPs have the chance to win exciting prizes such as Michael Kors purses, Beats Headphones, kitchen appliances and more!
We are so grateful to all of our DSPs this week and every week. We hopethis DSP Week shows you how much we appreciate all that you do to make Quest a great place to work and most importantly a loving and caring home for the individuals we serve. Thank you!
