Team Member Highlight – Debbie

by | Aug 6, 2024 | Quest Training Centers, Team Member Highlight

Debbie Lee is the Enclave Supervisor at Quest. Inc’s Training Center in Apopka. She uses her wealth of experience in building maintenance to help a team of five clients gain independence through meaningful work in the Enclave Employment Program.

Maintaining a Clean and Welcoming Environment

Debbie is crucial in guiding program participants through light custodial duties for which earn an income. The custodial team meticulously checks the entire building, ensuring everything is in order, from restrooms to the conference rooms and kitchen. Debbie instills the importance of providing clients and staff with a clean and fresh environment to ensure peak comfort.

“I love cleaning,” Debbie says. “I take pride in how nice it smells and looks when it’s all done. I’ve been like that since I was a kid; I’ve always loved cleaning.”

Celebrating Abilities, Building Independence

Debbie takes great pride in recognizing and celebrating her teams’ personalities and skills. She understands the importance of effective communication and monitoring.

Her ability to adapt her hands-on guidance and training methods to accommodate individuals with different abilities reflects her dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment. She is particularly proud of how she has inspired her team to take the initiative to work independently.

“One fellow on my custodial team is newer to Quest. He takes note of everything happening, and if someone misses an area, he returns and gets the cleaning cart,” she says. “He’s on it and takes his role seriously.”

Debbie feels reassured in her team’s ability to receive a job outside the center. They would understand how to adhere to guidelines, receive feedback from a boss and follow a work schedule.

Dedicated Support and Positivity at Quest

Debbie’s positivity and genuine care for the clients are evident in her interactions with them. She enjoys seeing the clients happy and enjoying themselves, whether having lunch together or joining them on community outings.

Her enthusiasm and love for her work make her a cherished part of Quest’s Training Center in Apopka. As she prepares for her one-year anniversary with Quest in October, Debbie is thankful for Quest’s culture and the meaningful relationships she has formed.

“I appreciate how the people at Quest appreciate me and what I do,” Debbie says. “I love keeping up with the building, and I love the clients. Everybody around me, clients and staff have been very welcoming.”
