Guirlande Dorcin has carved out a remarkable journey of passion and service at Quest, Inc. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at the First Street Group Home, her 15 years of dedication and commitment to the clients at Quest have been profound and have not gone unnoticed.

She ensures the client’s rooms are expressive of their character and that they are enjoying their home life.”

Starting the Quest
Guirlande’s connection with Quest began when she decided to relocate from Miami Cerebral Palsy. Referred by MCP to Quest, she stepped into a realm where her dedication would leave a lasting impact.
Roles Played and Challenges Overcome
Guirlande’s roles at Quest have been diverse, starting part-time as a DSP3 and transitioning to the overnight block for an impressive nine consecutive years. Like most people in their careers, Guirlande has faced adversity during her years with Quest. However, she did not let hard times stop her from pursuing her passion and purpose of caring for the individuals she serves.
Leadership Transformation
Guirlande experienced significant professional growth through her tenure with Quest and helping to lead operations at one of Quest’s group homes in Orlando. A contributing factor to her growth was her supervisors empowering her in her role and giving her support make independent decisions. She also stated that she feels valued in the workplace by Quest leadership.
Personal Achievements and Empowerment
Guirlande’s connection with Quest goes beyond professional milestones. She proudly considers Quest the birthplace of her personal and professional aspirations. During her time at Quest, she gave birth to her daughter and attained a bachelor’s degree in nursing. As she awaits her State Board Exam results, Guirlande is determined to continue her dedicated service until retirement.
