Crystal has been with Quest, Inc. for 11 years. She first began her journey with us as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). DSPs work directly with the individuals we serve by supporting them with a variety of daily tasks.
Her initial role involved assisting individuals with sorting hangers for Disney in a supported work environment. This program allowed individuals with developmental disabilities to learn a work skill and earn an income.
In 2015, she became the Activity Coordinator at Quest’s Training Center – Orlando. A few years later, she started working with Blossom and currently works as the Blossom Production Coordinator. Blossom is a social venture by Quest, Inc. that provides a unique work opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities. Our artisans create handmade, all-natural products such as candles, bath teas and soaps.
As the Production Coordinator, Crystal works directly with the artisans. “The most rewarding part about my job is training the clients and watching them apply the training,” said Crystal.
“Crystal is a creative and visionary artisan, which has been integral to Blossom’s beginning and success,” says Scott Barnette, Quest’s Senior Director of Employment and Work Programs. “She is also a great advocate for the clients we serve and ensures they have the opportunity to learn and grow while perfecting their craft. She makes the Blossom workplace enjoyable and her leadership for Blossom is truly appreciated.”
Crystal’s favorite memory with Quest so far has been the Happy Hours at Quest’s Training Center Orlando. She enjoys the different opportunities for growth at Quest and the work flexibility. In the future, Crystal hopes to travel more.
