Camp Thunderbird had a great Summer 2022! This Camp season featured new external programming thanks to a grant from the Bond Foundation, along with other fun activities!
One of the highlights this year for camp has been the return of international staff. Last year, due to COVID, a lot of international staff were unable to travel due to administrative hurdles for work visas. However, this year we had staff from the UK, South Africa, Germany and many more countries.
As always, our international team members were amazing and it was great to see the diversity amongst staff as well as the bonds that were made over the summer.
The programming provided by our organizational partners was a huge success with our guests. Some of the programs included a backyard carnival, foam parties, miniature golf, a magic show and the bubble lab from Big Idea Entertainment.
Gatorland was also one of the amazing programs that came out this summer. The Gatorland team wowed Camp guests with a gator, snake, and a scorpion! The representatives were amazing throughout all of the visits this summer.
The Central Florida Zoo also came out with some of their animals and put on some great shows for our guests. Our final program group was Cocobean Productions who dazzled the crowd with their steel drums performance. Our guests loved the music and wanted an encore!
All of this external programming was possible thanks to the grant received from the Bond Foundation. Their contribution made this summer so much fun for all of our guests and staff!
