Recently, Aeras Foundation formed a meaningful partnership with Quest, Inc. by donating iPads for clients at Quest Training Centers. The foundation believes that access to technology is vital in areas such as education, seniors and special needs.
iPads and other technology devices play a vital role in helping clients who may be nonverbal and also offer an incentive for clients during their sessions. When speaking with Aeras Foundation’s President, David Collins, he outlined the foundation’s mission: repurposing gently used electronics to meet the needs of those left behind in the digital realm.
During a visit to Quest’s Training Center Apopka, Quest’s Director of Philanthropy, Brittany Pilcher, spoke with Michelle Kaiser-Leeper, Chief Development Officer of the Aeras Foundation, on their mission’s profound impact on the Central Florida community. “In the wake of the pandemic, where one in four individuals lacked access to technology, Aeras Foundation became a silver lining,” Michelle highlighted. She continued, “the donation of technology doesn’t merely provide devices; it empowers and transforms lives. The 15 devices we donated to Quest can help 140 people and have a ripple effect on nonprofits, their staff and clients.”
Quest, Inc. will actively employ these iPads by incorporating cutting-edge communication apps tailored to the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. These specialized applications are designed to empower clients who may face challenges in verbal expression, providing them with a voice and the means to connect with others. Through this technology, Quest aims to create a transformative experience for its clients, enabling effective communication and fostering a sense of independence.
